Chasing the Dream Entrepreneurship Camp

Before we officially let go of summer, we had to share this picture of Tiffany, a participant in the Chasing the Dream Entrepreneurship Camp, a program funded by United Way of Delaware and delivered through the Delaware Financial Literacy Institute that operates during the summertime.  Tiffany is seen at the camp's Market Day, selling her Tropical Treat cupcakes.  Market Day gives campers a real-life experience of being an entrepreneur by creating a business and operating it for a day.  We found Tiffany and her business "Tropical Treats by Tiffany" down at Rodney Square during Market Day.   We're pleased to announce by the end of the activity all of her cupcakes were sold out.

Chasing the Dream is a hands-on, interactive camp that focuses on venture creation as a viable career option. Students learn about starting businesses and are given the opportunity and tools to run those businesses at the camp market.  Founded in 2007, the program allows campers to realize their dreams can become a reality.    We were honored to receive a few hand-written thank you cards from the campers expressing what their favorite part of camp was, what they learned and what Market Day business they created.  Thank you to the Delaware Financial Literacy Institution (Delaware Money School) for continuing to put our children at the forefront of their work and educating them about entrepreneurship!
